Katie Smith
Katie and her husband Justin have been married since 2003 and have been blessed with six daughters. They began their homeschooling journey in 2009 and were drawn to the classical method while researching options at a homeschool convention in Florida. They loved Classical Conversations and have participated in each program starting their girls at the age of 4 with the goal of completing the program through the challenge years. Katie has held the leadership role of Foundations and Essentials director with Classical Conversations for 11yrs and plans to direct Challenge A in Maryville in the 2025-2026 school year. They have two daughters that have graduated high school and are continuing their liberal arts education at Berry College in Rome, GA. Katie is passionate about classical education and is continuing her own education by pursuing a masters in Classical Studies through Southeastern University. She has been an academic advisor for Cumberland Christian Academy for the last 5yrs. Katie and her husband are foster parents and have hearts that long to comfort the most vulnerable and to work with their parents with the hopes of restoration of the family. Katie’s favorite bible verse is Colossians 1:16-17 “For by Him all things were created, both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities – all things have been created through Him and for Him. He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together.”
