KNOXVILLE, TN: Cumberland Christian Academy, a non-public School serving students and families using classical Christian home centered education was notified on November 13 that Cumberland Christian Academy is a Candidate for Accreditation with NCA CASI, NWAC, and SACS CASI.
Being accepted for candidacy is the first step in the accreditation process and is the result of a readiness review conducted by Cognia, the organization responsible for determining a school’s readiness for regional accreditation. CCA started this process late last spring by submitting our application for accreditation. Over the next 9 months, CCA staff and administrators conducted thorough reviews of the leadership culture, the learning culture, and organizational resources, in order to demonstrate our readiness for consideration of accreditation.
The letter of candidacy received by the CCA administrator, Jeana Partin, included a report reflecting Cognia’s observations during the onsite review of our staff and facilities. Among the items identified in the report supporting the recommendation to approve our candidacy, was our consistent student retention and enrollment growth, our strong curriculum and training, extensive evidence of our collaboration with key stakeholders (school leadership, Advisers, Parent/Teachers, Director Partners, and Students), and our dedication to continuous improvement and long-term sustainability.
CCA is pleased and excited to continue to pursue accreditation, which we hope to complete over the next several months. During this time CCA leadership and staff will address Cognia’s recommendations, conduct surveys and site visits, and continue to develop our long-term vision to make CCA a premier resource for the Classical Christian Home Centered Education family.
